The MiniQ Micro Metal Gear Motor Encoder used to sense the speed and direction of compatible micro motor and wheel sets.
This quadrature encoder was originally designed to work with the MiniQ Robot and MiniQ Robot Chassis but can be adapted to work other projects that use compatible micro metal gear motors with 42 x 19mm wheels.
The encoder outputs 12 pulses per wheel rotation from two infrared reflection sensors. The two sensors are 90 degrees out of phase with each other allowing quadrature encoding methods to detect speed and direction. Each sensor can be independently calibrated.
These encoder modules are designed to operate at 5V but can operate at 3.3V by shorting resister R4.
This package comes with one MiniQ Robot Encoder and two sensor cables.
