The Solarbotics GM8 Gear Motor has a 143:1 gear ratio and an offset shaft.
The 143:1 gear ratio allows this motor to run about twice as fast as the similar Solarbotics GM2 Gear Motor. When running at 3V without a load, this motor spins at 40 rounds per minute drawing only 50mA. This motor features a built in safety clutch.
The shaft on this motor has a diameter of 7mm and is flat on two sides and fits the Solarbotics Gear Motor Wheels perfectly. The shaft on this motor is just a bit shorter than the similar GM2.
Note: the green shaft is not designed to take a rotational load and should not be used.
