The Pololu Dual VNH5019 Motor Driver Arduino Shield provides 12A of heavy duty motor power for your robot.
This Arduino compatible shield features two independent VNH5019 motor drivers that can each deliver up to 12 amps to your motors. It supports motor voltages from 5.5-24V and can be operated from both 3.3V and 5V Arduino compatible microcontrollers. It has been designed for use with other microcontrollers via an additional set of control pins.
The VNH5019 motor driver supports PWM Pulse Width Modulation of up to 20 kHz for quieter motor operation. It features a current sense voltage to enable your microcontroller to monitor the realtime power consumption of your motors. Onboard LED indicators provide feedback to assist with diagnostics.
Screw terminals are provided for connection to two motors and an external motor power source. The external motor power can power your Arduino or be dedicated solely to your motors. The Arduino pin mappings can be customized to suit your needs by providing a modifying a circuit trace jumper selection on the bottom of the board.
The Dual VNH5019 Motor Driver Shield comes with a set of various optional headers and screw terminals that require soldering. This configuration provides maximum versatility but does require some soldering for use as an Arduino shield.
An Arduino library is available to ease integration into your robot project.
