The Pololu Pushbutton Switch SV is a solid state switch capable of switching 4.5-20V power supplies at several amps.
This compact module uses a small momentary pushbutton switch to control a MOSFET circuit that turns your power on and off. The MOSFET circuitry allows the tiny pushbutton to switch several amps of power. The Pololu Pushbutton Switch features the same patented design used on Pololu's Orangutan Robot Controllers.
Unlike regular mechanical switches, this module is designed specifically for DC voltages and will sip a small amount of current when idle (typically under 0.01µA). The module is breadboard friendly with standard 0.1" pin spacing.
You can use this switch to control the power to your robot and its motors. Your robot can even turn itself off by applying a logic level high signal to the module's OFF pin. This pushbutton power switch can be used for a variety of other DC power switching applications as well.
This package includes a fully assembled solid state P-Channel MOSFET switch module with separate pushbutton and header pins that require soldering for maximum versatility.
